Let me introduce myself…

Hi, I’m Sarah. While I work specifically with trauma and substance use, we can address whatever you need—anxiety, depression, processing through life changes. I have an extensive history working with people in all of these areas. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Wherever you are in life, I can meet you there.

We know life can be hard and it can feel even harder when you are navigating it by yourself.  I would love to walk alongside you through whatever challenges you are currently facing. I offer a judgement free environment where you will be heard.  Together we will develop a blueprint just for you.  A personalized plan that allows you to move forward in life in a healthy manner.  There is no magic solution, but my guidance works because it comes from a place of truth and authenticity.  We will walk this road together. Because here’s what I know…life is hard, but we are all just searching for the same thing.  I truly look forward to meeting you and sharing this journey to wellness together.

Education and Work History

I received my Bachelor’s degree in psychology and my Master’s degree in counseling, completing core coursework for both rehabilitation counseling and clinical mental health. My current licensures include Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor - Supervisor and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor – Clinical Supervisor. Before I went full time into the clinical field, I received my MBA in management and worked in Corporate America.

While in Corporate America, I also worked part time for over 20 years at a driver intervention program in Dayton, Ohio. This program was the starting point for me wanting to pursue a career in the clinical field. I spent 12 years working at a community substance use and mental health agency both as a therapist and as a supervisor of the Medication Assisted Treatment program, Women’s program and recovery housing. This brought me to learn more about trauma and how to help treat trauma. Which then lead me to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as a primary therapy for treating trauma.

For Fun

When not working, I love to travel. My goal is to visit every National Park in the United States. I also have a long-life fascination with lighthouses. On a trip to Canada and down the eastern coast shore, I had a life-changing moment of clarity at the Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. I snapped a photo, which is the photo on my homepage. My private practice took off from there. I peeked my interested in photography while traveling. In 2020, I took a cross country road trip to Yellowstone National Park and Grand Tetons. It was breathtaking! Experiences and memories are important to me, so I share them on my website.
